If you’re like me and sick of being stagnant and you need a change, then give Kaia a try!

We asked our Kaia Girl Taysha a few questions to celebrate her 1 year kaia-anniversary and the incredible transformation she made: She lost 43 pounds. Gained 9.3% muscle. Lost a total of 33 inches. Went from size 14/16 jeans to a size 10. Ran her first half marathon. Ran in the Reno Tahoe Odyssey Relay. Made working out a part of her weekly routine, joined a community and made SO MANY friends. Congratulations Taysha!! You are an inspiration to us all! Read below our Q&A with her. 

Q: When did you start Kaia?

A: I took my first Share the Love Class in November 2017 and became a member shortly after.

Q: What do you love about Kaia?

A: So many things! But if I were to name three, I would say;

Community - Everyone there from the coaches to the girl next to you truly cares about you and your success

Accountability – with group workouts, you are motivated and held to a standard to always do your best

Fun Events! Kaia Appreciation events are amazing! 

Q: Why is Kaia different from other gyms?

A: Whether you can do 1 pushup or 50, you are accepted as you are and welcome in this gym. But the coaches love you too much to let you stay that way.  They want to push you and help you succeed.  There are different moderations for every exercise and the coaches do an AMAZING job with switching up the workouts. I’m never bored. 

Q: How much do you use the Kaia cookbook/meal plan?

A: I use it CONSTANTLY. I love the Kaia cookbook! I have 3 so far. I stick to the meal plan for BRIK and it has really changed the way I see food.

Q: What did you change about your nutrition?

A: This is probably the biggest part of my transformation. I used to look to food for comfort. If I had a bad day, I would binge eat. I now look at food as fuel to get through my days and my workouts and I still enjoy my food! But there has been an emotional detachment to food which was what was keeping me gaining weight.

Q: When did you notice a change?

A: I noticed a huge change within the first 30 days of Kaia. I could breath easier while running, I was eating cleaner, I was really motivated to do better not just at the gym, but in my daily life. My husband and family noticed a change in my attitude. I was happier and had more energy. I continue to notice changes not only in my body shape, but in my physical endurance.

Q: What did you learn about yourself during your time with Kaia?

A: I lived most of my high school and young adult life saying “I could never be strong. I could never run that far or work out like that” Now I have become “that girl” and I’m in my 30’s.        I’m a full-time working mom of 2 boys, wife, sister, and friend. Like so many of us, I was living my life with me on the back burner. Everyone came first. I was so busy serving others, I would never take time to even eat a proper meal. I needed to do something for myself. Every time I pay my monthly membership to Kaia, it’s like a gift to myself. It’s an investment in me. You have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.

Q: What goals did you achieved during your time?

A: Lost 43 pounds 

Gained 9.3% muscle

Lost a total of 33 inches

Went from size 14/16 jeans to a size 10 

Ran my first half marathon

Ran in the Reno Tahoe Odyssey Relay

Made working out a part of my weekly routine

I have joined a community and made SO MANY friends 

Q: What are your current goals?

A: My goals now are to continue my growth in my body, mind, and spirit. I want to continue to be a strong mom for my boys. I would like to do a Spartan Race and a Ragnar Relay sometime in the near future 😊

Q: What is your favorite Kaia exercise?

A: I hate to say this out loud but… BURPEES! I have a love/hate relationship with burpees. it’s such a good feeling when you bust them out and you are so shaky and you feel like you’re about to pass out. You look over a fellow Kaia sister who feels the same way and you just smile and say “we did it!” It’s an amazing accomplishment every time.  

Q: Anything else you would like people to know?  

A: PLEASE GIVE KAIA A TRY! What’s the worst than can happen? You try it, you don’t like it, and you go back to your life. But there is a 99% chance you are going to LOVE IT and it will change your life. If you’re like me and you were sick of being stagnant and you need a change, then give Kaia a try!
